    Description

    We are seeking a highly experienced and professional Executive Housekeeper. This is a one-year contract position with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, and will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and service.

    Responsibilities

    • Housekeeping Management: Oversee and direct all housekeeping activities, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and organization are maintained throughout the residence.
    • Laundry and Garment Care: Perform laundering, ironing, sewing (mending clothes), and other garment care tasks.
    • Maintenance and Upkeep: Polish silver and brass, change light bulbs, and perform general cleaning duties, including cleaning inside windows.
    • Shopping and Inventory: Shop for household items as needed and manage inventory to ensure all necessary supplies are available.
    • Event Support: Serve at official events and handle post-event cleanup.
    • Communication: Answer the telephone and take accurate written messages when the Residence Manager is not present.
    • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the household.

    The employee is required to wear proper uniform attire at all times during working hours.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
    • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive management experience in a similar role.
    • Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills.
    • A degree in Hotel/Hospitality is an asset.
    • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, and exceptional customer service skills.
    • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal.
    • Experience with union operations (NYC union experience preferred).
    • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

    • Coverage for New York State Unemployment Insurance, New York Disability Insurance, and Workers Compensation Insurance.
    • Applicable Social Security Tax (FICA) will be deducted from the employee's pay.
    • Federal Income Tax, New York State, and New York City withholding tax, as appropriate, will be deducted from the employee’s salary.
