Under the direction of the Senate Bill (SB) 1 Senior Transportation Engineer, the Transportation Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for performing technical evaluations and engineering analyses of data, reports, and documentation submitted by internal and external partners to ensure compliance with State and Program guidelines. The Transportation Engineer (Civil) will apply engineering principles to review and validate project data and performance metrics within the CalSMART system, ensuring alignment with SB1 program objectives and technical standards. This role involves coordinating with internal divisions and external agencies to resolve technical discrepancies, conducting engineering feasibility studies, ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate project implementation.

Transportation Engineer Civil Exam
Candidates are required to review the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) for this classification. If you meet MQs under Pattern II and require the TE Civil in-person written hurdle exam, DO NOT TAKE the TE Civil online exam prior to passing the written hurdle. Candidates who take the TE Civil online exam prior to passing the written hurdle may negatively impact their hiring eligibility.
