    Description

    The County of Norfolk is seeking a dynamic and qualified applicant to serve as the RSVP Director for the County's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). This grant-supported program recruits and places volunteers aged 55+ in various community assignments across Norfolk County, including reading and tutoring programs, veterans’ services, meals on wheels, food pantries, hospitals, and other charitable and government-supported initiatives.

    Level of Language Proficiency

      • Program Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the RSVP program, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and federal regulations.
      • Volunteer Recruitment & Placement: Actively recruit senior volunteers (55+) and place them in meaningful roles at partner organizations throughout Norfolk County.
      • Community Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, charitable organizations, and government programs to promote RSVP’s mission and recruit volunteers.
      • Media Relations: Handle outreach through media, public relations, and Internet-based tools to attract volunteers and promote program visibility.
      • Grant Management: Write, submit, and manage grant renewal applications. Ensure adherence to compliance requirements and maintain thorough federal program evaluations and records.
      • Financial Management: Develop financial resources to support the program by preparing grant proposals for federal, state, county, municipal and any other resources. Direct fundraising efforts. Monitor in-kind support; prepare financial statements and annual budgets.
      • Goals and Objectives: Maintaining program quality by establishing annual program goals and objectives designed to meet critical community needs while offering opportunities for elders to maintain their self-esteem and usefulness through service to their community. Acquire review and submit Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), and any other documentation necessary to keep the RSVP Program in compliance with applicable funding agencies.
      • Partnership Management: Maintain positive working relationships with site partners, including schools, hospitals, veterans’ services, food pantries, and other community organizations.
      • Reporting & Supervision: Reports directly to the County Assistant Director or designated supervisory staff, providing regular updates on program performance, volunteer placements, and grant compliance.
      • Program Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the RSVP program, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and federal regulations.
