    Background

    Greater Lawrence Technical School workforce development programs prepare adults for career pathways and living wage jobs with priority industry employers. Technical training is the focus of these programs; each also includes ancillary services, such as career exploration/development, coaching/mentoring, employability skills, and job/internship placement.

    Summary

    We are seeking a full-time Workforce Development Program Manager to oversee all aspects of GLTS grant-funded workforce development programs. Examples of programs include the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Equity Workforce funded training for Solar Installers and for Building Maintenance Technicians, and the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund supported Medical Assistant training. Grants management, program management, student support, and employer relationship management will be significant components of this position.

    Essential Responsibilities include:

      • Completing contracting with funder and subcontracting with partners;
      • Assisting with technical training staff hiring and supervision;
      • Managing subcontractors and partners;
      • Budgeting and fiscal oversight;
      • Reporting;
      • Oversight of all aspects of the training programs, including recruiting, assessment, and enrollment; training program curriculum and delivery; ancillary services provided during training; job placement and retention services.
      • Employer engagement and ongoing relationship management including, for example, planning job shadows, employer visits, job fairs, will be done in collaboration with other staff.
      • . Responsible for reaching program goals and outcome metrics, and adapting program design if needed to reach goals.

    The Workforce Development Program Manager will work year-round full time and will be eligible for GLTS benefits. The position is grant funded, and GLTS has secured funding for the foreseeable future.

    The schedule will include two evenings per week to coincide with the technical training schedule.
