    Position Description:

    The Grants Manager assists the CFO in managing a sizable grants portfolio from foundations and major gifts to support the goals of a diverse set of Civix Strategy Group clients, with a particular focus on 501 (c)(3), 501 (c)(4), and PACs activities. This is a key role within the Finance Team, which works collaboratively across the organization and in close coordination with program staff, and finance and operations teams. The Grants Manager will produce written material and reports under deadline, help guide use of funds compliance for grants and manage key information and relationships.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    The Grants Manager is responsible for developing, strengthening, and maintaining the systems and workflows needed to support a team culture of collaboration and ensure the grants’ management needs are met in a timely and accurate fashion.

    Civix Strategy Group regards its nonprofit clients and their funders as key partners and collaborators, which means this role will work closely with program staff, serving as a bridge between program deliverables and grants management. The day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Develops subject matter familiarity on Civix Strategy Group client’s active programs and campaigns.
    • Closely collaborates with the program leads to translate program objectives into grant deliverables.
    • Works to bridge the grant administration needs between program and finance staff.
    • Provides timely revenue updates to the program staff.
    • Provides monthly Grants Summary Reports to the Finance Team.
    • Facilitates the compliance needs within grants administration.
    • Collaborates with the CFO, the program leads, and the finance team to align budget requests and reports for funding proposals.
    • Ensures all grant agreements, applications, and reports are filed accurately and timely.
    • Staffs the grants management portals as provided by funders.
    • Tracks all funder communications via the internal grants management tracker system and ensures the Pledge Tabs in the program trackers stay current.
    • Prepares draft Acknowledgment Letters for all program related revenue.

    Qualifications:

    The Grants Manager is a highly organized and a strong communicator with attention to detail that produces high-quality deliverables. They can work within a diverse environment that supports a movement for social justice.

    • The Grants Development Strategist (Grant Specialist/Manager) needs to be able to move at a fast pace and keep track of details and multiple deadlines. In addition, the ideal candidate will bring:
    • Three to five years of professional experience, preferably with at least one year of grant writing for a non-profit organization;
    • Superb writing skills;
    • Keen attention to detail, including strong editing skills and familiarity with AP Style;
    • Exposure to 501 (c)(3), 501 (c)(4), and PACs compliance for writing and budget design purposes;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; and
    • Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, meet multiple deadlines, and perform under pressure.

    This is a remote position expected to work during Eastern Time zone office hours and reports to the CFO.
