    Description

    Senior Financial Analyst, Partner Solutions (Hybrid in Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; Durham, NC; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA or Remote)

    The Senior Financial Analyst role works in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to advise on financial management best practices and ensure high quality financial reporting for a variety of complex nonprofit clients. The role is a key contributor to people and team management within the client financial services team, in partnership with the Senior Director of Client Financial Services and the Director of Client Financial Services.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Client Service

    • Provide financial client service expertise to internal colleagues and a portfolio of external clients with complex financial activities by reviewing and analyzing programmatic financial statements, preparing forecasts and other financial customizations, and problem solving as other financial issues or questions arise
    • Review and help prepare the financial components of complex proposals and grant reports to private foundation funders
    • Communicate complex financial information in a way that is understandable and accessible to non-financial stakeholders
    • Participate in the preparation and presentation of trainings designed for internal staff and external clients on processes and best practices in nonprofit financial management
    • Oversee the maintenance of shared financial templates and other key resources of the client financial services team
    • Work collaboratively with non-financial colleagues across multiple departments to improve systems, processes, and the accuracy of financial reporting for clients
    • Coach junior client financial services team members on addressing complex financial situations and providing excellent service to clients
    • Review the work of other client financial services team members and provide constructive feedback
    • Coordinate the completion of client financial services team objectives and priorities for designated areas of financial management expertise

    People Management

    • People manage 1-3 junior client financial services team members, including performance management and a focus on developing, motivating, and mentoring direct reports
    • Oversee and manage performance accountabilities for each direct report, including setting individualized goals and managing to role expectations
    • Convey, support, and as appropriate, translate firm messages from leadership to direct reports

    To Be Successful in This Role, You’ll Need

    Required

    • Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience with financial and grant reporting in a nonprofit or client service setting
    • Expertise with nonprofit finance and accounting best practices and concepts
    • Experience managing private foundation grants
    • Familiarity with the rules governing 501(c)(3)’s and 501(c)(4)’s
    • Advanced proficiency with Excel for data analysis and developing templates for client use
    • Ability to simplify and explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders, including key clients
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, including an ability to deliver clear, concise, and contextualized messaging to key clients
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing deadlines, including independently developing and managing workplans
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client service environment, including project managing collaborative initiatives
    • Strengths with problem solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail
    • Experience managing direct reports

    Preferred

    • Financial management experience with fiscal sponsors
    • Experience with training facilitation

    Total Rewards (compensation and benefits) 

    This is a full-time position. We offer a competitive and holistic total rewards package that includes salary, bonus, and benefits. Our compensation ranges are based on national compensation benchmarks for similar organizations.

    The annual salary range for this position is $88,000 - $95,000 and this position has an annual bonus potential of 10%.

    We consider national benchmark indicators along with job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive.
