Help collect signatures for a ballot initiative aimed at expanding healthcare access to 1.4 million Floridians! Currently, Florida ranks 47th in the nation for healthcare access and affordability, with one of the highest numbers of uninsured individuals in the country. Our goal is to gather enough signatures to place a ballot initiative before voters, allowing them to decide on Medicaid expansion that could bring billions of tax dollars back to Florida, create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and ensure access to essential healthcare for over a million residents.. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.

Get paid well! Canvass positions start at $19/hour. Leadership positions start at $20/hour. We also offer an additional $1/hr for Spanish/English Bilingual staff. We offer overtime pay, paid training, sick pay. All team members have the opportunity to earn an extra $2-$20 per hour through bonuses.

Locations: Tampa, North Miami, & Pensacola, FL

We are hiring immediately, all positions run through November with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts run from 10:45am - 6:30pm weekdays and weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time.

Petition Circulator Responsibilities ($19/hr):

• Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
• Deliver a compelling campaign message
• Collect petition signatures
• Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
• Strictly adhere to all local and state circulator laws
• Strictly follow the campaign's safety protocols

Team Leader Responsibilities ($20/hr):

• The Petition Circulator Responsibilities plus:
• Manage a small group of circulators out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day
• Ensure each circulator has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful
• Assist directors with circulator training and administrative work

The ideal candidate:

• Passionate about expanding healthcare
• Passionate about politics and fostering democracy
• Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
• Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
• Open to new challenges and are interested in building their campaign skills
• Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
• Applicants with convictions related to signature collection, voter registration or any election related offenses in FL or any other state will be automatically disqualified
• Prior canvassing experience is not required.
