Our mission is to drive systems change to create healthy communities. The Financial Analyst position is a 40-hour-per-week hybrid-remote position within Transform Health, based in California. The role of the Financial Analyst is to provide rigor and detail-oriented financial analysis and project support to our Operations team.

    The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to support decision-making processes in a matrixed project environment. They will prepare financial reports, conduct variance analysis, assist in budget preparation, and provide recommendations based on their analysis to ensure that the company is operating efficiently and within its financial goals.

    To be successful, you must be detail-oriented, eager to learn, an active listener, and driven. You must be proficient with the Microsoft 365 suite of tools such as Excel and SharePoint, and other technical tools including Salesforce and project management tools. The right candidate will work dynamically in a fast-growing business environment with health policy and program teams.

    Job Duties:

    • Prepare regular financial statements, reports, and forecasts on projects and for the firm, as needed.
    • Perform financial analysis and variance analysis, comparing actual results with budgeted or forecasted performance.
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and other financial project goals for the firm.
    • Prepare detailed financial models to support projections, rigor, and analysis of a variety of impact reports.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on analysis of financial performance.
    • Support strategic decision-making by offering guidance on investments, capital expenditures, and other financial matters.
    • Assess financial risks and returns, conduct due diligence, and provide recommendations.
    • Build and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and valuation purposes.
    • Analyze scenarios to predict outcomes and assist with business planning.
    • Ensure financial records comply with company policies, industry regulations, and relevant accounting standards.
    • Support external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and analysis.
    • Work closely with other departments such as MIS, Operations, our external accounting firm, and project teams to gather necessary data and insights.
    • Communicate financial results and trends to non-financial stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks to evaluate financial performance.
    • Develop regular performance reports to track progress against business goals and targets.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills:

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to prioritize. work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • In-depth understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and accounting standards.
    • Familiarity with industry-specific financial regulations and compliance standards.
    • Initiate and manage improvement processes in collaboration with our Operations staff to determine where workflow gaps exist and propose solutions for team collaboration.

    Key Qualifications:

    • Minimum of five years relevant work experience in a financial analyst position.
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
    • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and budget preparation.
    • Proficient in Excel and other data-driven tools in a remote workforce.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data analysis tools).
    • Experience with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is an advantage.
    • Strong customer service skills; the ability to work patiently with the team and clients to troubleshoot issues in a clear, calm manner.
