    POSITION OVERVIEW

    • Salary Range (Non-Exempt): $60,000 $80,000
    • Description: Performs the duties of an associate with guidance & oversight (i.e., when thinking through the standard day to day responsibilities in relation to this role, the experience and expertise will require more than casual instruction or oversight to perform day-to-day duties).
    • Location: Flexible on remote locations, with access to office space in the Bay Area and Sacramento. Please note that being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment at Third Plateau, as we are not able to sponsor applicants for work visas at this time.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    Overview

    Under the guidance of a Third Plateau Director, the Associate will serve as an integral part of Third Plateau’s democracy team, supporting the grantmaking and fundraising functions of multiple Third Plateau-run projects in the democracy field. Top candidates will have excellent writing and organizational skills, interest in working on the health of American democracy, and experience in philanthropy, development, or related fields.

    Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Project Administration and Tracking (50%)
    • Work with the fiscal sponsor for projects to track incoming and outgoing proposals, reports, deliverables, and funds.
    • Communicate clearly with funders, grantees, and other stakeholders about key deadlines and needed materials.
    • Support project managers on Third Plateau team to understand key deadlines for proposals and grant reporting and provide project management to facilitate on-time submissions of reports, proposals, and other deliverables.
    • Develop, maintain, and improve tracking systems for incoming and outgoing funds.
    • Writing and Knowledge Management (35%)
    • Draft and update collateral, reports, agreements, and related documents for projects.
    • Manage and organize written and quantitative narratives of project successes and key milestones, working with project leads to draft and collate grant reports.
    • Administrative Support (15%)
    • Attend retreats, building relationships with members and being another friendly and competent face of the TP team.
    • Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings.
    • Maintain and organize an online database, electronic files, and information systems.
    • Take notes in internal and external meetings.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED

    • 3-5 years professional experience.
    • Attention to detail that allows you to simultaneously focus on the big picture while also paying attention to the smallest details of a project.
    • The organizational skills to stay on top of your work, handle many moving parts with ease, and build sound processes where there were none before.
