The Data Analyst plays a vital role in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting direct response data to provide campaign findings and KPI/file health reports for use in strategic recommendations.

    Primary Responsibilities for the Data Analyst include:

    • Compile and analyze campaign metrics across various channels and provide insightful reporting to account teams
    • Create and generate direct response data reports and utilizations that meet team needs and support our clients’ strategic initiatives
    • Actively collaborate with the account teams to identify and create needed reports that allow for ongoing evaluation, course correction, and strategic insights
    • Support teams in importing and validating data and troubleshooting data issues as needed, including developing business rules around this process
    • Liaise with external partners including K2Dashboard programmer to address issues within the database or to add/update new reporting features
    • Provide training and documentation on how to use the campaign reporting and file health components of the K2Dashboard to staff
    • Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of K2D’s proprietary reporting platform – the K2Dashboard, making suggestions on improvements and additions and identifying possible issues
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for analytics and stay updated on industry benchmarks, trends, and new opportunities
    • Participate in coordination with the account teams on developing business assessment meeting decks, preparing data and reporting, creating data views that are digestible, actionable, and easy to understand
    • Participate in new business development by providing reporting and insights for K2D’s response to industry RFPs
    • Ensure implementation of best practices, stay up to date on data policy updates and guidelines, and follow company processes
    • Provide reporting support and analysis for special projects and for K2D client benchmarking

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Participate in webinars and attend conferences/workshops to expand skills
    • Share relevant findings with K2D staff at team meetings etc.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Team members who are most successful in this role typically have a minimum of five years of data analysis and reporting experience, experience with nonprofits and direct response fundraising is required
    • A degree or intensive coursework in business intelligence, data analytics, or statistics is preferred
    • Proficiency in and knowledge of basic statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, variance analysis, exploratory data techniques, etc.)
    • Proven experience in providing actionable reporting, analysis, and data visualization
    • Demonstrated project management skills and strong attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with effective resolution of conflicting priorities
    • Proven ability to perform analytic tasks (including but not limited to data mining, segmentation, randomized test design, forecasting, data visualization, etc.) and creating meaningful outputs.
    • Strong communication skills in both written and oral with the ability to effectively present information, respond and follow-up on questions and inquiries from clients and colleagues
    • High level of self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
    • Experience with Excel, MS Access, SQL, Power BI, Tableau and other tools and languages for reporting and data visualization
    • Experience with CRMs and eCRMs used in nonprofit fundraising, including Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect, EveryAction/Bonterra, Luminate, Classy, Engaging Networks, ActiveCampaign, and MailChimp.
    • Familiar with digital advertising and GA4/Google Analytics.
