As we continue to grow, we seek a Finance Operations Manager to join our team and play a key role in managing client accounts and delivering high-quality financial operations support.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as the lead on a portfolio of nonprofit client accounts, overseeing all day-to-day accounting functions while providing strategic financial insights and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. You may also support cross-client projects and collaborate with colleagues across functions.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned nonprofit clients
    • Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, and monthly closings
    • Review monthly financial reports, including budget-to-actuals and cash flow analysis
    • Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
    • Maintain restricted fund tracking and allocations
    • Support audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
    • Assist in budget development and ongoing monitoring
    • Provide guidance to clients on best practices in nonprofit financial management
    • Support payroll processing and reporting, in coordination with internal team
    • Identify opportunities for improved financial systems and internal controls

    Qualifications:

    • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
    • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting (required)
    • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (required)
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
    • Experience managing multiple client accounts or projects simultaneously
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and sound judgment
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills—able to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
    • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice; enthusiasm for supporting progressive organizations
    • Degree in Accounting or related field preferred; CPA or CPA track a plus

    Work Environment:

    This role is based in Salem, MA with a hybrid schedule, though we’re open to fully remote arrangements for the right candidate. Candidates working remotely must have a professional home setup or secure their own workspace.
