    NEWCO Strategies and NEWCO Labs, a diverse and woman owned strategic consulting firm, is looking for an Associate. This position is responsible for assisting with various administrative and project management functions of NEWCO, projects of NEWCO Labs and associated projects. The Associate will report directly to the CEO. Local DMV-based candidates are highly preferred.

    The Associate will be a key part of a small and mighty team. You will engage in a variety of activities, including client meetings, trainings, research, writing, and web-based projects.

    What You Would Be Working On:

    • Assist NEWCO staff members in the development of strategic plans and deliverables for client goals.
    • Be a key member of client teams, responsible for keeping track of tasks, producing results and assisting in updating the client week-to-week.
    • Help develop and/or execute content strategies to support strategic campaigns.
    • Produce sharp, engaging writing for memos, briefs and presentations.
    • Drafting of communications and social media content for clients and NEWCO. Provide operational and administrative support for clients and NEWCO.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • One to two years of experience as a staffer for a non-profit or political organization, agency, elected official, or media outlet.
    • Ability to work in complex and sometimes political situations.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Great with research and pulling together reports, background briefs, and presentations.
    • Ability to connect the dots, synthesize and present insights.
    • Experience in communications or digital, with press and/or social media very helpful.
    • Understanding or interest in progressive organizations, movements, and issues.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to be flexible.
    • Organized and able to reassess priorities with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, sense of humor and ability to work well on a team.
    • Ability to take initiative, act and organize time with independence.
    • Ability to handle multiple "priority" projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
