    Description

    We are hiring for an experienced, Full Charge Bookkeeper to handle our client’s bookkeeping needs with Quickbooks. As a direct report to the CEO, this person will play a lead role in ensure that our client’s books are always organized, accurate and process-driven. To ensure success in this position, you should have advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting systems, excellent project management skills, and a good eye for detail.

    We are looking for a team player who is a bookkeeper, but also wants to lean into financial advisory and teaching what we do to small business owners in a group setting with training and guidance from our Founder.

    > Bookkeeeping Responsibilities

    A productive fit for this role requires an upbeat attitude, strong analytic ability and an appreciation for detailed, accurate and timely financials. Note that our bookkeeping work is mostly focused on setting up automations and streamlining bookkeeping work for clients. Work includes / requires:

    • Leading new client onboarding and discovery for bookkeeping projects
    • Leading client tasks and deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time
    • Restructuring of Chart of Accounts in QBO using our Managerial Accounting framework
    • Setting up new QBO integrations and automations, such as connecting tools like Shopify, Square, Gusto, Justworks, Uncat and others.
    • Building new financial management processes supported by step-by-step SOPs and technology integrations
    • Maintaining quality, trusted relationships with our clients, collaborators and colleagues
    • ]Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of monthly closes

    > Educator Responsibilities

    In addition to our consulting work, we host hands-on, high-impact educational classes that cover the A to Z of what business owners need to know about finance & accounting. We’re looking for someone who can join us in this teaching experience. Work includes / requires:

    • Learning and understanding Skopos teaching materials
    • Instructing classes both online and in-person (in New York City)
    • Updating or developing course materials as needed

    Requirements:

    • Lives in New York City and able to meet in person 2-3x/week
    • *You are proficient in Quickbooks Online
    • *You are proficient in Google Sheets
    • Brings 7+ years experience in accounting and/or finance experience.
    • MUST be tech savvy
    • You are a creative thinker.
    • You have experience working in a business financial capacity, perhaps as an accountant, management consultant or business loan underwriter.

    • Ability to travel as needed to visit clients and attend networking events
