    Description

    We are seeking a full-time Project Director to oversee an AIDS/HIV community-based project in four geographic areas to address the HIV crisis. This role is primarily remote but will be based in the Southeast United States with travel required.

    The Project Director will oversee operations with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in four geographic areas on the east coast. Working closely with the client’s partner, this person will manage all phases of project implementation from planning to participant enrollment to project closeout. This project will rely heavily on community engagement and buy-in from each respective community. This role will be primarily accountable for the tracking and completion of all benchmarks and milestones, including flagging delays, risks, and other potential roadblocks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the ongoing operations of the project over the course of the two year project period.
    • Manage the day to day performance of several employees.
    • Work to integrate the outputs and deliverables of the Communications Director and Communications Coordinator (known as the Communications Team) into the project.
    • Lead the research driving selection of geographic areas, as well as target CBOs for each geographic area, and relevant context, history, legislation, geography, population data, etc.
    • Manage ongoing partnerships with CBOs in four geographic areas.
    • Regularly visit all four sites to understand the settings, challenges, successes, and overall progress towards completion of relevant benchmarks.
    • Monitor and contribute to the successful design and execution of the supply chain for ordering, storage, distribution, collection and ultimate delivery of tests.
    • Ensure the appropriate systems of accounting for all financial aspects of the project.
    • Lead monthly calls with the federal funding agency to report on achievements, challenges, lessons learned, etc. of the project.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 4-5 years working on complex, multi-site projects.
    • Bachelor’s degree required with Master’s degree preferred in public health, physical, biological or environmental science.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years experience managing staff in diverse roles responsible for varied workstreams.
    • Minimum 2-3 years experience in project management required.
    • PMP certification preferred.
    • Experience in research, synthesis, and analysis.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Public health experience is a plus.
    • Expertise working on complex public health issues with a focus on strategies for reaching hidden populations.
    • Previous experience in HIV/AIDS preferred.
    • Periodic travel required.
    • Understanding of data collection, management, analysis, as well as protection.
    • Experience working on projects with complex supply chains.
    • Adept at budget adherence and reporting.
    • Knowledge of government projects is a plus.
    • Ability to travel between four target states (in the US SouthEast).
    • Must be familiar with project management software (e.g. Asana, Monday, or Click Up), Google suite and/or Microsoft suite required.
