Social media and marketing assistant

Seeking social media and marketing assistant for New Faces of Democracy, a political podcast highlighting ordinary citizens doing extraordinary things to stand up for democracy.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Social media
  • Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote podcast on various social media websites
  • Create and distribute content including infographics, audio clips and Reels on social media (Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, potentially TikTok)
  • Create evergreen clips for archive content
  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
• Podcast production
  • Help create shownotes, including timestamps
  • Create episode art using Canva template
  • Help with inviting guests on the podcast using Calendly
  • Strategize guest appearances on other podcasts
  • Optimize for Apple Podcasts and Spotify
  • Podcast analytics, using Captivate
• Website and marketing
  • Assistance with creating and designing blog posts
  • Search Engine Optimization and keywords
  • Create Mailchimp newsletters
  • Implement podcast marketing strategies

Qualifications:

• Impeccable oral and written communication skills, creative, attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Wordpress, Canva, Mailchimp
• Knowledge of social media creation apps and image/video editing software, such as Headliner, Descript, and Opus a plus
• Strong experience working on major social media platforms including Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.
• Knowledge of social media analytics a plus, such as Instagram Insights, to track audience engagement and campaign performance
• Interested in social media trends
• Copywriting and editing skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• 10-15 hours per week, remote, flexible hours.
