Exciting News! Idealist and VolunteerMatch Are Merging
Over the past 30 years, Idealist has supported millions of people in their quest to build a better world, be it through a job, volunteer opportunity, or by working with neighbors to solve a local problem.
As we look toward the future of our work and how we can make an even bigger impact, we are excited to announce that Idealist and VolunteerMatch—which hosts the largest aggregation of volunteer opportunities worldwide—are merging. Under one umbrella, this combined organization will be called Idealist.
For now, nothing will change for Idealist or VolunteerMatch users. The platforms you’ve come to love and appreciate will continue functioning as they are now, but we are working toward the goal of a unified platform to better serve our network of organizations and the people who help them thrive.
If you’re looking for a nonprofit job, internship, or volunteer position, you’ll soon find more organizations and opportunities, as well as improved resources, to help you take that next step.
Social-impact organizations will receive greater support in recruiting, hiring, and retaining volunteers and staff members, including enhanced tools that will streamline their processes.
We are so proud of the work our two organizations have done over the years, and are confident this next chapter will usher in a new wave of positive action. Over the next few months, we will start reaching out to our respective organizations and users about the easiest way to navigate the new and improved Idealist.
