    We are currently seeking a skilled Bookkeeper/Controller to manage our firm’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in accounting and finance, with expertise in legal or professional services environments. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and proficient communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Cash Management
    • Accounts Payable
      • Manage accounts payable, including tracking case-related expenses.
      • Assign expenses to specific cases and collaborate with attorneys to secure necessary approvals.
    • Client Trust Accounting
      • Administer client trust accounting functions.
      • Recognize revenues, process liens, and manage expenses related to cases.
    • Payroll Management
      • Conduct bi-weekly payroll runs and process bonus payments for attorneys.
      • Maintain strict confidentiality concerning payroll information for all employees, particularly attorneys.
    • Software Proficiency
      • Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online to ensure precise financial management and reporting.
    • Documentation and Data Management
      • Employ Microsoft Word and Excel effectively for documentation and data analysis.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within a law firm or professional services setting.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • A passion for civil rights and a commitment to our firm’s mission is highly desirable.
