Kindergarten Teacher for Camp Program

Perfectly Me KindergartenHero Camp is looking for superheroes – kind, compassionate, hardworking, patient, fun individuals who want to change the world. We are a day camp for kids ages 5-6 that helps them be their best selves. Our camp is full day and operates at schools and community centers around the Baltimore region. We are known for our intentionally curated activities, supportive and warm atmosphere, top notch activity instruction, great team and community and infectious enthusiasm! Perfectly Me carefully selects college-aged, awesome individuals who exhibit the same supervalues that we are promoting in our programs. Warmth of personality, patience, flexibility, courage, calmness, independence, quiet strength, inner confidence, and a strong work ethic are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Attend all required trainings.
• Working with other camp staff members to plan and coordinate camp activities.
• Implementing with fidelity the Perfectly Me Kindergarten Hero program and curriculum.
• Supporting our campers in the development of their supervalues.
• Leading and supporting campers as they participate in age-appropriate activities.
• Monitoring campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents.
• Ensuring that all campers are engaged and having fun
• Ensure that all campers are included and experience belonging at camp
• Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
• Reporting and recording details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to parents and camp staff.
• Memorizing all emergency procedures and enforcing camp rules.
• Implementing PM restorative practices procedures.
• Supporting Junior Counselors and CITs
• Participating in staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school, camp or childcare setting
• Strong classroom management skills
• Background in special education or early childhood education
• Knowledge of behavior management and childhood development principles
• Willingness to maintain a clean and safe camp environment
