Every year the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program provides gifts for thousands of needy children right here in Broward County. Paper angel ornaments, representing real kids in our community, are placed on Christmas trees in local malls, where shoppers can “adopt” them. These shoppers then buy a special gift for their “adopted angel”, and ensure that child has a Christmas to remember.
With summer now gone, and the holidays fast approaching, The Salvation Army is gearing up for what we’re sure will be our most successful Christmas season yet.
But we can’t do it without you!
We need volunteers starting the Tuesday after Thanksgiving at locations across Broward to help shoppers adopt these needy “angels”. So, no matter where you are located there is sure to be a spot nearby. This effort will continue everyday until Tuesday, December, 10th. Even if you only have a few hours to spare, those hours can truly make a difference to a child or family right here in Broward County.
As this Christmas season nears we urge you to join us in giving back to our great community. This is not only a wonderful opportunity to spread some needed Christmas cheer, but it is also the perfect way to experience, first-hand, the true meaning of the holiday season.
