SiE seeks to transform elementary school science education for everyone. Founded by a PhD scientist, and with multiple scientists and educators on staff, SiE brings the best of science education to elementary schools that serve primarily diverse low-income students. SiE leverages the intellectual skills of the Bay Area's STEM professionals and has trained over 900 of them to serve as mentors to our students.
Our philosophy has three pillars: Science is awesome, science is for everyone, and science is everywhere. We have two main programs: a hands-on in-class program and a professional development program to train teachers to develop and implement science and engineering lessons that integrate English and math.
