FLE is a non-profit organization that strives to empower inner city families to transform circumstances of poverty into opportunities for growth, learning and self-efficacy. We support at-risk low-income families to develop the confidence and skills to chart their own life courses on their own terms. FLE provides culturally sensitive parenting education, developmental child care, peer mentoring, coaching, and support.

Family Life Education’s organizational philosophy and culture is that every individual is naturally creative, resourceful and whole — completely capable of finding their own answers to whatever challenges they face. Our program participants become part of this culture embracing this philosophy using it to take chart of their course of life. Our model emphasizes the development of self-efficacy among member of the community, particularly parents, by supporting a process of self-awareness, personal responsibility, and attaining a real sense of empowerment and life purpose.
