  • Sobre Nós

Lakeshore Children’s Advocacy Center provides services to children ages 3-18 and their non-offending family members when there has been an allegation of sexual abuse, physical abuse, extreme neglect, or if the child has been a witness to violence.

Through the work of the Lakeshore CAC, a team of child abuse professionals – including family advocates, law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical examiners, and mental health professionals – are brought together to facilitate a compassionate, multidisciplinary response to the identification, investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse. Our goals are to reduce trauma, seek justice, and foster hope and healing for children and their families.

The CAC provides opportunities for children to talk to a trained professional about what they may have experienced in a safe and supportive environment. In addition to forensic interviews, the Center also provides case management services to help connect children and families to resources in the community and help guide them through an abuse investigation. On-site trauma focused counseling services, as well as referrals to outside mental health professionals, are offered to children and families to begin their journey to healing. All services are provided at no cost to children and families.

Lakeshore Children’s Advocacy Center also offers free child abuse prevention training for adults, as well as school-based body safety education to children in grades K-12 in Manistee County and Mason County.

Lakeshore CAC has two locations: 385 Third Street in Manistee, and 239 N. Jebavy Drive in Ludington.
