To enhance the outcomes, including effectiveness and cost-effectiveness, of interventions to prevent and treat cancer, we have assembled a multi-disciplinary group of investigators with demonstrated expertise in the methods of health services research and a proven commitment to the study of cancer outcomes. The 27 members of the Program in Outcomes Research have faculty appointments at six institutions at DF/HCC, and each is a principal investigator or co-investigator on one or more currently funded or pending grants which include outcomes research in cancer among the specific aims. The Program in Outcomes Research includes MDs and PhDs with clinical expertise in medical oncology, pediatric oncology, radiology, gastroenterology, psychiatry, and general internal medicine; and methodologic expertise in health services research, decision science, economics, medical sociology, psychology, epidemiology, and psychology.
