  • Sobre Nós

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) is a powerful voice for social justice and human rights in the United States and abroad. Founded in 1939 to aid the victims of Nazi terror, we have challenged injustice in more than 50 countries on four continents over the course of the past seven decades. Our programs have consistently worked to empower women, defend the rights of children, and center the voices and struggles of oppressed racial, ethnic and indigenous groups.

UUSC works for social justice and human rights through an effective combination of advocacy, education and partnership. Rather than imposing our ideas on our program partners, we offer local organizations and leaders the help they need to create long-term solutions to human rights challenges in their own communities. We learn from and truly partner with our organizations. As an organization and employer we approach our work with an anti-racism lens and work to counter the harmful effects of white supremacy culture on individuals and groups.

Our work with partners in the United States, South and Southeast Asia, Central Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean shapes our public policy agenda. We train and organize our members and other U.S. citizens to effectively advocate for domestic and international policies that promote human rights. We also provide financial and technical support when disasters strike, especially where human rights are threatened around the globe.
