  • Sobre Nós

The Council on Hemispheric Affairs (COHA), is a major tax-exempt, nonprofit and nonpartisan national research and information organization. COHA was founded in 1975 to encourage balanced relations and monitor policies among the US, Latin America, and Canada. Issues of concern to COHA include diplomacy, human rights, freedom of the press, mixed economics rather than neoliberalism and development, anti-corruption and pro-democracy efforts, respect for Latin American sovereignty, and free trade. Interns (called research associates) write articles for COHA's distguished biweekly publication Washington Report on the Hemisphere, interview policymakers and journalists, conduct research for position papers, write press releases, and respond to public inquiries.
