    Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) is the nation's oldest independent liberal political organization. Founded in 1947 by Eleanor Roosevelt, Hubert Humphrey, Walter Reuther, John Kenneth Galbraith and others, ADA is dedicated to promoting social and economic justice both at home and abroad. ADA works for the eradication of discrimination in all forms, the protection of workers' rights and quality education and health care for all.

    ADA is a non-partisan lobbying group that works via the grassroots as well as direct lobbying at the federal level.
