King-Chavez Academy of Excellence (“King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools”) is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit charter school network operator. Our mission is simple, “We seek excellence in Academics, the Arts and Athletics from the foundation of Love.” The vision of King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools commits us to promoting social justice through educational reform while closing the achievement gap between students in the inner-city of San Diego who have been traditionally under-served and their suburban counterparts. We do this through developing and operating high-quality public charter schools and community preschools. We believe that school spirit is primary and inner strength drives high achievement. We view all programs, initiatives and methods in the greater context of Love. Cultivating caring relationships in a supportive environment where heart-centered exchange between teacher and student can thrive is our highest calling.
