Please be sure to read more below About Our Trip To Africa below!

Say Yes To Education Inc. is a national, non-profit education foundation committed to dramatically increasing High School and College graduation rates for our nation's inner city youth. It is a guaranteed college scholarship program. Unlike most scholarship programs, SYTE selected the Philadelphia recipients in 2000 when they were in Kindergarten and has provided on-going academic and social supportive services. These scholarship recipients are now all High School students and are apart of the Bryant Chapter.

Our program focuses on community service, mathematics, health education, history and cultural enrichment. Over the years, we have placed emphasis on the history, struggles and culture of African descended people. The scholarship recipients each summer research and create portfolios and other projects focused on the African Diaspora. The youth are very proud of their history and culture and have expressed a great desire to visit Africa, their ancestors homeland. The youth currently attend a diversity of High Schools from high performing public magnets, charters, private schools and neighborhood schools. Many are honor roll and award winning students. During our summer programs, we compete in the Philadelphia Youth Networks's work ready program, and in 2010 won first place in the citywide contest for our youth entrepreneurial projects an in other categories. The on going independent research conducted by Research for Action on the program has reported that the majority of the youth are on the track for high school graduation and college attendance.

    About Our Trip To Africa!

Say Yes To Education Africa 2012This is one of our scholars' dreams ... Since they will soon be graduating from High school, they really want to visit Africa before attending COllege. The youth, their parents and other supporters are now aggressively raising funds to visit Ghana West Africa in August of 2012. They are conducting grass roots fund raising activities, such as handmade craft sales, car washes, selling dinners, flea markets, dances, raffles, and other youth directed ventures. Even with this aggressive grassroots fund raising, we know we will need more support. We are also reaching out to individuals, foundations, businesses, and corporate sponsors hoping to receive financial support. The scholars are working hard to make this dream a reality. The trip to Ghana will be a life-changing event for everyone. The itinerary includes working on short-term projects, visiting hospitals, schools, universities and of course, the historic sites of the Slave Dungeons and cultural facilities.
