The Advocacy Fund

As the nation’s leading c4 nonprofit infrastructure organization, The Advocacy Fund (TAF) offers an array of services that amplifies the efforts of forward-thinking philanthropists, foundations, activists, and organizations. The Advocacy Fund is working for progressive social change working in the legislative branches at state and federal level. The Advocacy Fund provides the unique opportunity for nonprofit organizations, initiatives and grantmakers to engage in charitable and educational activities as well as high-impact advocacy work. We provide the mechanisms to lobby for a cause, give money to an advocacy group or impact legislative and ballot initiative activity. The Advocacy Fund is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization and is independent and separate from Tides. Founded in 1992, and sharing offices with Tides and some staffing resources in San Francisco TAF provides fiscal sponsorship and grant making support for groups across the country and has managed more than $75 million of program activities since inception.
