The mission of the Friends of Herring Run Parks (FHRP) is to preserve, protect, restore, and promote Herring Run Parks and its stream valley for the benefit of present and future generations.
Herring Run Park is a Baltimore City Park located in the northeast corner of Baltimore City. The 4-mile long stream valley park neighbors eleven different neighborhoods and is composed of two different geological landforms -- the Coastal Plain and the Piedmont Plateau. The park's history is just as varied. Native American, Colonial American, and Industrial Revolution populations have inhabited the Herring Run stream valley and the park celebrates its history.
FHRP and its volunteers have successfully advocated for infrastructure repairs in the park, removed thousands of pounds of debris, and engaged hundreds of people in environmental projects.
We invite you to volunteer with Friends of Herring Run Parks and help steward this amazing oasis of lush forest and rolling meadows in Baltimore City.
