  • Sobre Nós

The Heckscher Museum brings art and people together. It is a catalyst for discovery, imagination, the exchange of ideas, and the sharing of experiences.

Located in in scenic Heckscher Park in Huntington Village, The Heckscher Museum is a cultural and arts educational anchor for Long Island and the New York metropolitan area. The Museum’s exhibitions, education programs, and digital resources attract more than 100,000 visitors annually.

An average of four changing exhibitions each year highlight the Museum’s impressive Permanent Collection of American and European art, as well as works lent by artists, collectors, and museums. The Museum lends works of art from its collection to museums around the world for special exhibitions. A leader in K-12 visual arts education, school programs annually reach nearly 8,000 elementary, middle, and high school students. Workshops, festivals, and other public programs engage children, families, and adults with art thinking and art making.

The Heckscher Museum is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Funding for operations and programs is secured through generous donations and grants from individuals, businesses, and private foundations. The annual Celebrate Achievement Benefit is the Museum’s largest annual fund-raising event with proceeds dedicated to exhibitions and programs that serve Long Island’s diverse population.
