The following meal services are available:

    Hot Meals

Volunteers deliver hot, medically supervised meals to Salem County residents each Monday through Friday, including holidays such as Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

    Supper Meals

In addition to the hot meal, volunteers may deliver cold, medically supervised supper meals to Salem County residents. Individuals who are eligible need a little more assistance in preparing meals.

    Frozen Meals

Frozen meals are delivered by volunteers to Salem County residents once each week. Recipients of this program are screened to ensure they have the means of heating up a frozen meal. Frozen meals are typically provided to clients whose therapy schedules for dialysis, chemotherapy or other health issues prevent them from being home at the time daily hot meals are delivered.

    Weekend Meals

This program helps sustain the frailest individuals during weekends when no other assistance is available. Each Friday, volunteers deliver a hot meal for Saturday and a frozen or cold meal to utilize on Sunday. Most weekend recipients receive the supper meal for a total of four meals each weekend.

    Emergency Meals

Meals on Wheels delivers five shelf stable meals (canned goods and other items) to each client in late fall and again in early winter in the event there is a snow or other emergency that would prevent volunteers from delivering meals. In the event of such an emergency, each client is called to ensure that they are safe.
