Illinois Prison Project

The Illinois Prison Project works to end mass incarceration by working alongside and on behalf of thousands of people who are needlessly incarcerated in Illinois and across the country. Many of our clients are elderly people, people with disabilities, those who are medically vulnerable, and people who have survived substantial periods of incarceration. We see our work as mitigating against the harm of a criminal legal system that is inherently oppressive, racist, and overly punitive. Towards that end, we work alongside currently and formerly incarcerated people to educate the public and advocate for meaningful and far-reaching criminal legal reform.
