California Physicians Alliance

Founded in 1987, CaPA is a statewide non-profit 501c3 organization of physicians and others dedicated to advancing healthcare reform with the goal of universal coverage within a system of unified public financing (aka single payer) for our state. We also work in partnership and in coalition with other organizations who are advancing specific and more immediate and medium range health care reforms aimed at expanded coverage, justice, equity, affordability, and improved quality. CaPA was a lead organization in establishing Medi-Cal coverage for undocumented children. CaPA has also developed the “Road Map to Golden State Care” which outlines step-by-step how to achieve a statewide system of universal coverage within a framework of unified public financing.
