¡Adelante Latina! is a three-year, after-school college preparatory program that empowers Latina high school students in Baltimore City to overcome many socioeconomic and academic barriers so that they are accepted into a college or university with adequate financial support.
With the dedication of certified teachers and compassionate tutors, the program strives to improve students’ academic performance specifically in the areas of reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing. The program also offers enriching cultural excursions and experiences, hosts an annual Summer College Bootcamp, and assists students with acquiring summer internships. In students’ senior year of high school, ¡Adelante Latina! teachers guide the students through the college application process with a senior curriculum focused on essay writing, test taking, and financial planning.
