  • Sobre Nós

Located in West Garfield Park, the Academy of Communications and Technology (ACT) Charter School opened its doors to students in 1997 as an independent public school. We exist to prepare inner city students who wish to attend and complete college. Our program emphasizes the communication arts and technological literacy. ACT students live in and around West Garfield Park, a neighborhood chronically plagued with gangs, drugs, unemployment, violence and other symptoms of poverty. ACT believes that all of the school’s stakeholders - teachers, parents, students and community members - can become partners in building a safe haven for learning and growth. ACT currently serves 320 students in grades 6 – 12. (Beginning with the 2006-07 school year, ACT will serve students in grades 7 – 12.)
