First Call Hospice and Palliative Care

The mission of First Call Hospice, a locally owned agency founded in 1993, is to provide individualized quality hospice care to meet the unique needs of patients with a limited life expectancy. The primary goal of First Call Hospice is to enhance the quality of life when the quantity of life is limited. This is achieved through palliative care and supportive services designed to meet the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of the patient, the patient’s family and the caregivers.

First Call Hospice provides Hospice home care services, as well as inpatient services at contracted facilities. First Call Hospice is Medicare/Medical certified and is licensed by the state of California as a Hospice which contracts with other health care facilities and agencies for inpatient type services.

Hospice care is offered to clients in their private homes, residential care facilities, and to those in skilled nursing facilities with whom a valid contract is in place.

Hospice care has evolved as a result of the desire of terminally ill patients and their families to live life until death with dignity, and with the highest level of comfort possible for body, mind and spirit.

The purpose of our Hospice program and its services is to assist clients, both the terminally ill person and the family, in this process.
