Muslim Justice League (MJL) is a non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization defending human and civil rights against erosion under national security pretexts, through community education and organizing and legal and policy advocacy. Based in Boston, MJL's work serves and engages residents throughout Massachusetts, and we collaborate extensively with local, regional, and national partners.
MJL was founded in 2014 by Muslim women in response to a need for locally-driven advocacy by directly-impacted communities to protect rights threatened in the name of counterterrorism. Our advocacy engages and advances the rights of people of all faiths and none. We are committed to critical analysis of the structural causes of rights violations and to promoting understanding of the connections among policies and practices that target various "suspect communities."
