Caregiving Youth are children and adolescents who are 18 years of age or younger who provide significant assistance to grandparents, parents, siblings with disabilities or other household members who need help because of physical or mental illness, disability, or frailty associated with aging.

The Caregiving Youth Project began in the 2006 -2007 school year at Boca Raton Middle School. The CYP's goal is for youth caregivers to be supported academically and personally. We want to see our youth succeed in all aspects of their lives. CYP's supportive methods include in-school counseling, sponsored activities, home/family evaluation visits, connections to helpful resources, classes and respite through volunteers and cooperating agencies. Our Project partners with seven middle schools and 15 high schools.
