Maine Roller Derby

  • Sobre Nós

Maine Roller Derby began in 2006 as a group of 20 women and is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit with an active member base of over 60, including skating members, skating and non-skating officials, and volunteers. The league is composed of three teams: The Port Authorities, or the travel team, and two home teams: The Shipwreckers and the RIP Tides. MRD seeks to foster professional, personal and athletic advancement for all the league’s members through training for, promoting and playing the sport of roller derby. The league regularly recruits new skaters and volunteers and hosts monthly games September to June, along with several fundraising events throughout the year. Our mission is to promote the sport of roller derby, maintain a competitive athletic program in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association and make a positive impact in our community.
