Empower Work is on a mission to create healthy workplaces where employees are valued, supported, and empowered.

Empower Work is a nonprofit that provides free, confidential support for tough work situations. Anyone in the U.S. can immediately connect with a trained peer counselor via text or web chat to feel heard, supported, and if needed, connected to resources.

What’s tough varies for each person. We provide support for a range of issues from microaggressions to ethical dilemmas, manager or co-worker conflict to separation or offer questions.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every person, regardless of where they work or their personal resources, can have an accessible advocate to support their professional journey and equip them with the skills to successfully handle complex work challenges.

We believe every worker should have access to support and resources at critical job moments. Many workplaces provide little to no support, and even in those that do, people aren’t always sure they can trust an employer provided resource. 

Being free and available, with no barrier to entry, is central to our values. That doesn’t mean that it’s free to provide our service.

We’re able to remain free and accessible thanks to generous contributions of from institutions and individuals who believe in building a better future of work; volunteers who dedicate their time to give back; people who use us and pay-it-forward; revenue from training and partnerships; and pro-bono and discounted services and products.
