Bet Mishpachah is a congregation for LGBTQ+ Jews, their families and friends, and all who wish to participate in an inclusive, egalitarian, and mutually supportive community. We are proud to have a diverse community of women, men, and non-binary individuals who share equally in the leadership of the congregation.
We join together for weekly Shabbat services, educational events, social action/social justice activities, and holidays, affirming our religious and cultural heritage and celebrating our LGBTQ+ and Jewish identities.
Our services are held at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center, 1529 16th St NW, Washington, DC, and we are currently streaming those services as well. We have published our own unique prayer books reflecting the spiritual and inclusive values of our congregation. In addition, we feature a range of activities, including a Social Justice committee, educational classes, and social events.
Our vision, as set forth in our strategic plan, is to be the primary destination in the Washington, DC area for the Jewish LGBTQ+ community.
