Project PLAY’s mission: To provide creative, innovative youth development and health education programs that build positive self-image and prevent teen pregnancy
Health Education Curriculum DCYHC Health Educators, guest speakers, and peer health educators facilitate sessions that include information about contraception, healthy relationships, and other pregnancy prevention information. The curriculum is provided in 10 sessions, depending on the high school.
Peer Health Educators Program Students meet weekly after school throughout the year and receive training to be peer health educators. Training includes reproductive health, anatomy, effective contraceptive use, STDs, and presentation skills. Peers lead health-oriented activities such as classroom presentations, information booths, and service projects.
