Hoboken Dual Language Charter School (HoLa) is a K-8 Spanish immersion charter school in Hoboken, NJ.
HoLa offers a rigorous curriculum through instruction in both Spanish and English to children from a diversity of linguistic, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. This unique program utilizes the well-established full immersion approach to dual language education with a range of opportunities for creative expression and experiential learning. Students become bilingual and biliterate in a culturally diverse and nurturing environment. There is an emphasis on the arts in the lower grades, and a shift in emphasis to science and technology in the upper grades. Charter schools are free public schools, open to all students in the local community, that are operated independently of local school districts. Admission is by lottery.
