In 1970, community leaders and parents established South Shore Day Care Services (SSDCS) with the goal of providing affordable child care to working families. The agency is now one of the state's most respected providers and the only South Shore program that offers child care services to multiple ages, targeted to low-income parents and at-risk children. Caring each year for over 1,100 children ages two months to fifteen years, South Shore Day Care Services is the area's largest provider. Two-thirds of our parents have low incomes and would not be able to work without South Shore Day Care Services' programs.
