“To prevent early death and disability from heart disease and stroke in Australia” This single purpose drives all that we do. It recognises that caring for people with cardiovascular disease and taking a population approach to the prevention of cardiovascular disease strongly enhances our effectiveness to achieve our mission. The Heart Foundation’s objectives relate to achieving our mission by working in an integrated manner across the cardiovascular continuum. That is to: • Foster research that will provide a greater understanding of cardiovascular disease, its treatment and prevention • Provide leadership regarding clinical best practice Undertake best practice health promotion initiatives.
