Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk exists to assist survivors of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, elder abuse and trafficking; to prevent the incidence of these crimes through education; and to raise community awareness of the need for justice and compassion for victims of these crimes. We view these crimes as various threads in a fabric of abuse: they are crimes primarily against women and children, crimes in which violence or the threat of violence are used to exert power or control, crimes which have traditionally been a source of deep shame for the victims.
