The Center for Youth Development through Law (CYDL) is a small, award-winning nonprofit organization providing transformative educational programs to youth from under-resourced communities in Oakland, Berkeley and Richmond, in cooperation with the UC Berkeley School of Law. By providing paid professional internships, law and social justice education, social and emotional development curriculum, mock trials, college and career development activities, and ongoing mentoring, we inspire and prepare disadvantaged youth for higher education, fulfilling careers, community engagement and leadership. 92% of our program alumni attend higher education, and many become changemakers in their communities.
