BACDYS is a 501c3 committed to serving low-income immigrant New Yorkers with a mission to improve their lives through empowerment, civic engagement, community development and advocacy while promoting cultural harmony. BACDYS was initially founded in 2009 to meet the needs of Bangladeshi residents who recently immigrated to the U.S. and/or were first-generation Americans. Since its founding, the organization has grown to meet the needs of all communities residing in City Line, East New York, South Ozone Park, and reaching residents as far as Jackson Heights and the Bronx. An overwhelming majority of Bengali and community residents we serve live in poverty, are underserved, under-represented, and hard-to-reach.
