Mothering Justice (MJ) is a statewide project dedicated to empowering mothers to become policy sharpers and makers. Mothering Justice believes every mother is a working mother and hopes to change the future of families in Michigan for the better by encouraging mothers to advocate on behalf of issues of financial security. MJ also believes that parents know what is best for their families and can best advocate on public policy.
The three organizational focuses include (1)Advocacy: Educating elected offices on core issues for working families, (2)Leadership Development: training mothers to run for public office, and become decision makers and, (3)Voter education: mobilizing mothers to vote early and often. The overall goal of this organization is to have a well organized group of mothers that can engage fellow mother and law makers around a variety of issues that effect working families.
